Swiss champ XAVT
on: August 26, 2018, 10:25:03 PM
Hi Members, thanks for the acceptance
to you organization,First off let me say I am not a true collector although I have always had a knife in my pocket or in a sheath since I was about 6 years old,my first real knife was a Puma White Hunter which I bought for I think £13 in 1964, followed by various pocket knives and issue service knives, but here is my problem,I have a friend who is disposing of her ex husbands things, she has 2  Victorinox Swiss Champ XVATs she wishes to dispose/sell, they have never been used, and in the presentation boxes, I cannot find any papers to go.I have no Idea of their value, I think they are the first model as they have no torch or digital function, Could anyone let me know if they have any value? many thanks in anticipation

First off: Welcome!

Second: some pictures would be of great help.
Vic made multiple huge pocket knives so an "XAVT without electronic scales or light" could be anything from an XLT or XVT to an XXLT and probably some stuff in between.

Thanks Wspeed, they have not been used at all , is there a serial number I can find on the knife anywhere, or was it only on the papers? Am trying to get a definitive id. I know you guys have a vast amount of knowledge, so will appreciate any advice.

Yes , the lighters both work, been offered £150 for one, fair price or no?Bearing in mind one still has cellophane protective wrapping on it, but no paperwork/
