I bought a Uncle Bill's Sliver Gripper today for EDC. It was a deal it cost $5.00, its silver coloured and, American manufactured. Does anyone on here have one?

Yup, best tweezers I've ever handled.  They have lived on my keychain for about a year+...never came loose so don't worry about that.

I never even heard of it. Who exactly is this Uncle Bill person, and what does he grip his slivers with?

I bought a set with my last order for those odd jobs where the SAK tweezers aren't good enough- like removing small splinters.  Far be it for me to knock any part of a SAK, but they just aren't made for grabbing slivers, which is about all the Uncle Bill's are good for!  But, if you have a sliver, they are worth every penny and a truckload more!

I modded SAK tweezers with a pin point as well (although I'll be darned if I can remember which SAK they are in!  :o) but they just don't have the kind of pressure or strength to pull slivers out of tough skin like your hands or the bottoms of your feet.

SAK (stock) tweezers are too long and thin to get any real "grip" at the tip.

I might cut down a pair like that in the pic above :tu:

I always "choke up" pretty close to the business end of SAK tweezers for good grip.  The ground tweezers are an improvement for some tasks but, I agree with Def, they're no substitute for Uncle Bill's.

Credit for the tweezers pictured above goes to Scibeer.  :tu:
