I'm still owing you guys the real account of my today's odyssey at the flea market.

Arrived, as usually, quite early ;-) . Many of the sellers were the same as every year, only the man whom I suspected of having sold a Victorinox Walther was not there... maybe next time!

Of course all my today's finds were absolutely spectacular.

  • An old woodern box that once contained pastels but's now empty and will serve as a garage for my sandpaper and small files

  • A new in box Victorinox Mountaineer for 15€. Quite nice!

Almost as good a find as in my daydream above, isn't it?

Thanks for reading and for your replies, sorry if I disappointed some of you.
I swear that I'll do whatever I can to find that box of 1891 Soldiers for you!

A Mountaineer for 15 euros! - This would have me doing backflips & yodelling for joy (more so than a bunch on antique rusty SAKs worth millions!) For the last few months - well, years - I've been thinking: "Must get me a Mountaineer!" But everywhere I look they're just a little bit too expensive, compared say to a boring old Huntsman.
So you got yourself one good piece of treasure as well as coming up with the best April Fools gag of 2016.

Had I paid attention to the date I might have been a little more weary :pok: Good prank though :salute:

Also good find on the real day that you went as well

I think they are used when working on or beside water so if your drop it, it floats. Nice simple idea, but very odd looking.

Sorry guys, couldn't resist - even the more since an original Elsener Soldier 1891 is on my definite "want"-list, but I fear to never get one.

Had to beadblast, scratch, etch and crack my 125-years anniversary Soldier to get the right look for the pictures though

 :salute:
It is "must have" reading for this day
