That's fatty fish in lye. Fat + lye = soap. Fish soap. And you're supposed to eat it. I spent enough of my childhood with a bar of soap in my mouth. Ain't doing it as a grown up. Particularly not if it's fishy.

Check out Zabak's for schwarma and falafel. I work with one of the owners. His mom and dad have been making schwarma in Houston for decades. Check out Shanghai River for old school white tablecloth Chinese. Greek food? Check out Greek Fest on Montose next weekend. Entry on Friday at lunch is free. I will be there eating gyros and Greek ice cream topped with baklava.

Quote from: ThePeacent on September 28, 2018, 11:56:30 AM- Migashttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MigasThere are several variations of 'Migas' here in the States, mostly influenced by Tex-Mex cuisine. But I make a hybrid Spanish-Mexican style with old bread, sausage, onions, peppers, and eggs. Not really true to either tradition, but it is a tasty dish. Let's call it 'Nix's Montana Migas'!
San Sebastian (1h drive north) has the best variety/quality of pinchos I've ever had. Really a worthwhile place to visit if you love all sorts of food.
I WANT TO GO TO SPAIN !!!
American licorice is too sweet for me, but I like Aussie and Danish licorice. We used to have a shop nearby that stoked 100 different licorices from around the world, but it closed recently and I've been going through withdrawal.....
