This is NOT Macgyver, and it will never be!!
This "franchise" is a disservice to the real Macgyver show and spirit. Nothing more than a Victorinox line show case, as the main character is the SAK. Even RDA wanted nothing to do with it after being invited on board.
Mediocre acting, and laughable plots and scripts. It's "Team" Macgyver meets CSI/NCIS/-any other action show of today-.

Sorry if this shocks anyone, but what i've always liked about the real Macgyver more than the use of a SAK is the science and thought process, and also the fact that (while still fiction) a lot of the "Macgyverisms" where actually possible, and most of all simple. The SAK was just a handy tool to help out when needed, not the star of the show.

Rant and personal opinion on the show apart, still fantastic work on ID-ing all the SAK's on the EP's  :tu:

Very great work.

I have a question.
Does MacGyver use a Spartan Lite or something in the basement ?

4-12 "Loyalty + Family + Rogue + Hellfire" none used.
4-13 "Save + The + Dam + World" Huntsman Wood in 1990 ? ???

Just a quick question, as I have only just started watching this new series...
I read that the original Macgyver production went through over 144 different SAKs during the course of filming, and they obviously have different models available in both series. Is the difference ever actually explain in either show?
I mean, in episodes where Mac makes use of more than one SAK, is this because he carries several on his person at any one time, or does he carry just one 'movie magic' SAK that goes from two layers to six, to three, to five, to four in between scenes, as and when the prop department feels like it?

In some episodes, he uses a SAK to cut something, then in a close-up, he uses another one. And further down the episode, he uses another SAK for something else, then one he was using before, then another model.

This is not explained in the episode. Of course MacGyver does not have a dozen SAKs on his belt or in his pockets, so it's just a matter of continuity mistakes. They have a big box of free SAKs, supplied by Victorinox for product placement, so they grab one at random to film a scene. And because the scenes and their different angles and close-ups and character perspectives are not filmed in sequence, we get the 'magical SAK' effect.
