Depends on where it is.

In my knee, not so much.

On colored alox, the patina on carbon steel or anything else where it shows as character rather than damage, absolutely. Pocket and holster wear is sexy. It means it was worth carrying, and it's been used. It says this is good gear, and it's scars are history.

I do like the look of immaculate tools, but I like the looks of well used ones too. The difficulty seems to be in the space between the two.

However, for me, ownership alone is pretty dull. I get my enjoyment from using the tools, and achieving something with them. An immaculate item on a shelf or in a drawer might look nice, but for me is completely pointless, and I very soon get tired of it.

Besides, worn tools can look asthetically pleasing, IMO.
If the trees blew down the wind and no one was around, would the alphabet song really go backwards?
