I'd go for the ones with the classic scales, phillips and scissors...  :D

Just don't let anyone at the store touch the scales with anything with alcohol to remove the price tag glue residue after they take them off. I just hate stores that put sticker prices on the scales... The last time i bought one the woman clean the residue off the scales with naphtha and it warped hours later because the cellidor  softened for a little bit and warped under the tweezers "spring'y" upward action on it... Ended up replacing the front scale

The one on the top shelf on the back left is 130 and i cant figure out what makes it the most expensive one. Could it be the lighter?

Uh, I just want to know what store still has Swiss Army Knives for sale in a display like that. I can think of maybe four that I know of locally:

Kenmore Army Navy
Bromfield Pen
Hilton's Tent City
The Army Barracks

I know of other stores that sell them, but only big box stores in Blister Packs. And Wally world around here ONLY sells the Classic SD.

Good on you for finding this place!

Big box stores like Target and Dick's Sporting goods, even REI all have them in blister packs, and not much variety at that. Admittedly, Dicks may also have a display, but they might have two Leatherman, two SAK, two Kershaw, and so on. The rest are in blister packs hung on pegs.

GooGone will safely remove adhesive and tags from most scales. Use on a paper towel or cloth then wipe clean of any GooGone residue after the cleaning.  If in doubt, test it on an unnoticeable area. NEVER use GoofOff. It contains xylene and will melt the scales.

A few years ago I took a SAK to a knife store to be sharpened, they gave it back to me with a piece of scotch tape around it, that held a tag with the service fee (which was fairly expensive, to boot).
Needless to say that was the last time they saw my knives.

Just saw this topic today ...  :sa:

That would be heaven and hell at the same time for me  :poh:.

Last time I found a place like that, I ended up clearing out their display cabinet ...  ::).

P.S.: I even went back when they gave me a ring to tell me they found some more Wengers under the counter ...

Edit: they did give me a 50% discount on all of them.
