OK, this may get me thrown out of the Executive Lounge, but here is my story:
I decided to do the bottle opener mod to the orange peeler. I didn't really trace the cutout nicely like Crackout did and kinda just hacked at it and held it up to a bottle capped beer. I was aware that the tool was getting hot and periodically held it under cold running water. When it finally started to hook nicely on the cap, I had to celebrate with a beer
It lifted the cap nicely but in doing so it also bent the backspring. I'm pretty sure the spring must have been very hot for this to have happened
Not a huge loss since I had bought it used on the bay of E for around $12 and was able to pick up an even cheaper one that was missing scales that could be replaced with the ones on this damaged Executive. Still a bummer and worries me a bit that maybe the backspring, even cold, isn't up to the task
