Paperweights. Anyone else a fan?
on: November 26, 2018, 05:06:23 AM
I am not a collector of paperweights, but I buy them if they are attractive and cheap. Over the years I have accumulated about 30 of them. These photos show some of the cooler ones.
Are you a paperweight fan? Glass, acrylic, novelty, etc?
Please post photos of any paperweights you have! :)

Neat collection!

Since the wide dissemination of air conditioning hand electric files the need for paperweights has almost disappeared.

I liked using 3/4 inch drive sockets.  Nice conversation pieces for shade tree or occasional mechanic that rarely ran across that size. I had a couple at one time.

Thank you, Yadda!

Yeah man. Those 3/4" drive jumbo sockets are cool(I think I have a 1 3/4" somewhere). Those and engine parts. When I was younger, I enjoyed using a piston from a Briggs & Stratton J block Horizontal shaft small motor.

Any heavy item can be a paper weight? "Heavy" meaning, maybe 250-350 grams or heavier?..

Well, technically, I meant items specifically designed and manufactured for the purpose of keeping your paper from blowing/falling/sliding off of a surface.  :ahhh

Considering paper rarely blows off of your desk anymore the weight restrictions are now up for debate....  :D

Ahahaha, RP!

We don't collect multitools or SAKs at all! We just have a bunch of technically and mechanically cool paperweights that can be used to fix stuff. Mind blown! We're living a lie!  :ahhh

It really is a feature MT manufacturers do not advertise. Who has not used a multi-tool just as a solid brick of steel, to keep papers from being blown away by the wind?

Though, I must admit, I've used a paperweight to drive a tack into the drywall in my bedroom.

Looking good gustophersmob

Right I've looked for mine and it would appear that my ex-wife has them, so I've got no idea when I'll get them back.
