Introduction
on: March 09, 2019, 11:13:41 PM
Hello All,

I've been lurking for a really long time (I think 2013ish...), and decided to finally register and say hello.  Like many here, I have an infatuation with SAK's and multitools.  I always carry a pocket knife, and most days it has a Victorinox stamp on the blade.  This place has been a wealth of information when looking for info on different models when researching purchases, etc.

While not as afflicted as some, the state of my collection is:

I have been pretty much exclusively carrying a Compact for the past couple of months, Spartan before that, and others that caught my eye.  I've found I really like the nylon scales, and most of my cellidor models get the nylon treatment if they're going to see much carry.

Today the Compact is finding itself placed in the drawer for a while...  :mail: New arrival today of the Pioneer X.  I was looking to add scissors to my carry and had my eye on both the Compact and PX a few months ago.  I was always going to end up getting both, but went with the Compact first.  After a few months of getting to know each other, it was finally time to pull the trigger on the PX.  Figure we'll give it a month or so to see how we get on.

I've missed the awl, and am really happy to have one again.  Nothing quite ventilates take-out coffee cups in the morning like it.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading, and I'm happy to be here.
- Mike

Welcome.  I carried a Compact for years, then the PX came out a couple of years ago, and the Compact has been idle ever since.  I think you'll like yours too.

Welcome, glad you decided to join in.  I wonder tho, how long before you go back to the compact?  Or like many has the PX permanently won pocket space?

I love the PX but the TP, tweezers and pin on the Compact just seem to keep it in the EDC line up for me.

Welcome as a regular member!

I'm pretty sure you'll love your Pioneer X too. That and the Compact are close to perfection as compact EDC SAK's.

Welcome and great collection you have there.  The Compact was my SAK of choice for years, too.

Thanks.  I am a pretty big fan of the Compact...  Too soon to tell, but we'll give the PX an honest shot.  Worst case we go to a shared custody solution.  I'm not quite ready for the SAKMC, although it was pretty close with the Compact ;)

I may miss the TP and tweezers, but I haven't been  able to rock the pin since I swapped to nylon scales.  I was really missing the awl though, so it's going to be interesting.

Thanks again everyone for the welcome.

Swap the combo tool out for the awl, it's win win.
