Inlaid designs and tang stamps
on: December 23, 2018, 02:23:28 AM
Inlaid designs, hot stamp, printed, etc. While I like a SAK to have the tools I would like to have, I have found that I prefer the scales to be a certain way. I have found that I also prefer certain tang stamps. If I have a chance to buy a certain model and one has the inlaid design and the other a hot stamp, I will pick the inlaid design. I was wondering if there are others with the same fixation? A few of mine and the the tang stamps are the ones I have, a couple are not on my favorite list, just examples. Do you have a favorite or two?

I can't claim to be too particular, but those are very nice! The inlays always seem a bit more special to me.   :tu:

I few weeks ago I saw a Hiker that was like the Camping inlaid design...that was really nice as designs go.

Thanks Ray.  Here's another one I had forgotten about.  I had to post this picture of it here at MTO to figure out what the inlaid symbol was, the Australian Youth Hostel logo.

Awesome logo SAKs! :like:

Vic does an inlay nicer than most. So clean and 'incorporated'. :)
The blue Fisherman logo is one of my favorites, especially being the only logo on the scales. The only others I have are an '03 Boyscout Huntsman and Fisherman. I think I need to find some more. The Space Shuttle one is awesome.

It's part of a series, there is also a Hiker for example (not a Hiker model but a Hiker inlay).

The Canadian inlays are special too (bear, goose, etc.).

My favorite is the blue one with fish. I own only one of those.
The Automobile inlay is also nice (St. Christopher).
And the astronaut of course!

The Camping is one of my favorites also. I am not a fan of Coke, as I have been drinking Dr. Pepper for over 50 years now, but I would have bought that one in a heartbeat...the detail is great! Thanks for sharing with us!  :like: :tu:
