Day 27 for GLBM:

Off work today and sitting around playing with multitools. :P

Pontificating particularly pious positions pertaining to polymorphic paraphernalia. G-Man.

Dat 28 - Today being Sunday I expect it to be quiet for tool usage.
So, this morning it posed by the window overlooking the fresh mowed front yard now drying from evening showers.

Day 28
Unpacked and assembled a couple of new garden equipment. Real bargains! Almost managed the entire thing with my Surge.

Day 25's carry:  With the Surge, I opened the warranty replacement for my Craftsman offset screwdriver, and used the pliers and cutters to wire a currently unused gate to a fence.

Mora 511: 125th Anniversary Edition (I actually just learned this; it was sold as Red/Black)
Fisher Space Pen: Military Model
Knipex 125mm Cobras
Maglite LED Solitaire
PocketWrench II CV version (definitely tougher than the SS versions)
Surge (Duh!)
Camillus 70 Jr. Cattle Knife (ca. late 1940s)

Hello day 28
There is a need to cut cable ties so that I may swap batteries for my logging box.
Easy as with a sharp blade.

The end is near, so let's take a look back.

The Surge is a beast. Pliers, reamer, blades, scissors. And versatile, with the bit driver, t-shank holder, removable diamond file, replaceable wire-cutters and even a stranded wire cutter. Plus my favorite can opener, which is a perfectly fine bottle opener. Not a lot The Surge cannot do.

I could live without the two fixed flatheads, and I think I haven't used them for the challenge. Sure, you can drive flathead screws, but they are not common, but there's already a nice size flathead in the bit slot, and my Surge rides in the sheath with the bit kit anyway.

The main thing is that for edc, the Surge seems like total overkill. I got by just fine with my Rebar, Wave, Spirit or just my Deluxe Tinker for the most part. I had done a 7-day challenge with it, but it really deserved a month of its own. And now I appreciate it even more. :multi:

Great challenge, full of excellent photos and uses of the Surge. It's been lots of fun. :salute: :woohoo:

:iagree: it is a very versatile tool and I have come to appreciate it as well :salute: I may throw it into my rotation of tools as well now  I didn't notice the weight after the first couple of days but would have used a lighter MT on weekends had I had the chance though :D Super glad I have done the full 30 days (almost ;) ) with this tool as well :like:

I am the same that I don’t need the two flat screwdrivers
And I would of been happy with just the PE blade
I don’t know why there have to be two blades
The only thing I don’t like is that the pliers rub when opening or closing
and that the Surge doesn’t open or close as smooth as my Wave+
But I got this MT for using and it has done everything I needed the Surge for  :tu:

Day 29

I found a use for the small flat head screwdriver
As I needed to fit a cutting disc for my Dremel
I was going to use the flat bit driver
but I tried this first and did the job fine
