Day 8 - At work some plumbing issues consumed the morning.  Surge was not used, but later loaded water softener, and PE cut through salt bags like butter, sorry no picture in action as boss was watching me handle the 20 bagsi think he was fearful of the sharp blade!

Day 8

A few uses today but only photographed this one.  Just a hanging screw for my office temperature and humidity monitor. My old one I got given years ago got pushed off the filing cabinet to its death.  Replaced it with a nice small unit.

Hello
Have an issue with holes or pop outs in concrete. I suspect it  is caused by under strength aggregate or inclusions in the aggregate. The mighty Surge is great for a quick agg crushing test.
Not very scientific but tells a good story.

Nice day pic of the Surge doing some work .

Day 4.

Used the serrated blade to open the feed for the sheep before pouring it into the feed storage box and I also had to make another pin to hold the feed box shut, as usual, from sticks I find laying around the barn. Used the plain edge blade for the whittling. Did the job really well. The clip/drop hybrid blade of the Surge/Wave/Charge is a really good general purpose blade.

And the clip fits loosely into this 2011 Surge for some reason. It fits on my 2017 Wave just fine, however. Just a fluke, or is this normal?

Day 8

(Image removed from quote.)

Really need to make one of those shields to put on my 3000-series Dremel. What did you get the clamp off of? Could I use a standard hose clamp?

That's just a rubber clamp for wiring. I've had it in a box for about 5 years, and I do not remember where I got it from. It came with two inner rubber straps, using just one made it the perfect diameter for my Dremel. It is nice and wide, and gripped the shield perfectly. A hose clamp would work, but if it is steel it has to be very tight. If it were rubber, it would not have to be super tight, and would grip better I think.

I think this is a Dremel 3000, and it is way easier to make a shield for it. There are many videos about it. Just search for DIY Dremel shield.

Yep it's normal on the Surge.  There is a thread with a fix for it where you glue a small bit of metal at the bottom of one of the outside tool slots that cures it.

Edit: its in the scissors slot. Looks like I used the end off the lanyard loop as it was the right thickness when I did mine.
