Well I was hoping to get my hands on yours at the meet-up, but I'll just have to settle for someone else's.  :(

As for the Blast it's a great tool, but with so many benefits that either a Spirit, or a New Wave have over it the Blast just doesn't have enough to offer anymore.  However it is a good solid tool to have in your car or tackle box as an emergency tool.

It's also a pretty good gateway MT.  Once I saw what the Blast could do, I wanted more. :)

Earlier I was comparing the Blast to the new Spirit X and the two are very similar.  The obvious differences are the price, finish, and inside vs outside tools.  But looking past that you see that the four "main" tools are almost identical in design and function.  Both have a plain edge main blade, scissors, file and saw.  Also the same are the dedicated philips and small/medium flat driver.  You could also easily mod the flat drivers on the Blast into a chisel and an awl to compare with the Spirit.  Bottom line is that both are comparable, quality tools that will serve you well.
