Who has washed their EDC?
on: December 10, 2008, 12:00:16 AM
According to Blade Mag.

62.63% Have not

35.35% Have

And 2.02% don't have an EDC (probably doesn't know what it means).

I think I have once or twice.

There is a rule in the house, whatever is found in the washer or dryer belongs to the person doing it.

Since I very seldom have money anyway all I have to lose is knives and MTs :D

hmm I've found it bonds pretty well to jeans...I have a hole in the back pocket of most of my jeans that I seal up with duct tape and it stays on for quite a while :D

On purpose?

My Gerber Infinity Ultra has gone through the wash many times, and still works.

Washed my SURGE and charge, but quickly wipe with towel and put it in the oven toaster for 30 seconds to completely dry them. As for my EDC bag haven't washed any of them yet, I'm afraid it would make them less durable.

I wash my EDC knife if I use it on food or anything with an adhesive. I don't think I ever washed my multis or SAK.

Yes I have washed my EDC Knife. I carry my MT in a sheath on my belt so there is little chance it will get run through the washer. But I do wash it in the sink when it needs cleaning.
What? Enablers! Are you serrrrious? Where? I dont see any.

Ugh... I leave stuff in my pockets all the time.  Usually there's a pile of stuff on the washing machine that my wife has pulled out of my pockets.

Sometimes I think she just washes the stuff hoping that I'll learn to empty my pockets...

I buy most of my MTs second hand, so I wash them all as a matter of routine.

After that, I wash the GAK that Mikko sent me a fair bit, because I use it for food, but not much else.
I used to come here a lot.

I wash used SAKs when I get them. Soap water and an old toothbrush do the trick. Haven't washed my edc in laundry yet, but my cellphone (old se k750) took a dunk once, 3 days of drying got it to work again.

I've had several SAKs and Fenix flashlights go through the wash with no problems.

I've had cellphones go through the wash too.  I disassemble them and throw them in the oven at 120 degrees F for about 8 hours and they're usually fine.

Never tried baking my phone, I left it on the window under the sun, did the trick.

I've only ever managed to wash a few SAKs, especially my Tinker.

Which is no problem at all~

My coldsteel med. voyager ( tanto point ) has been wash at least 4-5 times with no ill effects.  My cell phone was not as lucky, once was all it took and I had to get a new one.
