Good stuff everyone :tu:

I'm a bit envious of you guys that can take your axes into the kitchen and do food prep with them, if i tried that with any of my rusty relics i would end up with a tetanus sandwich or if my other half caught me she would take it off me and ram it up my jacksy, so i thought i would make my own kitchen friendly axe  :tu:

My all time favourite hatchet is the Karesuando mini hunters axe ..

(Image removed from quote.)

Not really for chopping firewood, it's a hunters axe so more for chopping meat and skinning beasts and occasional branch i think but a more beautiful axe you are not likely to find, i have wanted one for quite some time but they are very expensive and i have other things sucking my money at the moment so what to do? Well, as it's Choptober i figured i would have a go at modding my own version

Some of you may remember this, i posted it earlier in the year when i dug it up ...

It's changed a bit since then, and now looks like this ..

(Image removed from quote.)

Just needs a final polishing and it should slice and dice with the best of them  :tu:

Of course with most things i make it will evolve, i might grind off the poll a bit and thin out the handle a bit more but its a good start

Day 7

smurf me you've done a good job there!  :o  :like:

Fuzzaxe Day 10

Got stuck into things today with Fuzzaxe. First I sorted out the firewood and stacked it...

Then after that I began the process of making kindling out of old window frames. it's going to take a few days to get through it all, but it'll provide enough kindling for the whole winter... probably.

However... after I chopped up the first lot I noticed a brad I'd failed to remove beforehand and I thought to myself, I bet I've hit that... and...

... right enough...

...I had.

Thanks guys for your kind comments  :salute:

I thought i had a leather mask that would fit it in the shed but no joy, i don't see one but serendipity being what it is, i did find this....

An old Wetterlings which i am delighted to find seeing as that brand is now no more, i think GB run the forge now, anyway the temper line is real obvious on this one, anyone know why that could be? i would never have burned out the old haft so it wont be that  :dunno: but then, i wouldn't have bought this new

When is am axe not an axe?
When its a training axe.

Here we have the ColtSteel Trenchhawk Trainer and Black Bear Classic Trainer picture next to the SOG FastHawk and a Glock 81

I like that mini-axe.  And it doesn't look abused....the way some Scottish axes do these days.....very nice, David.   :tu:

Actually, Fuzzy, I'd finish off the kindling before redoing the edge. If it isn't disrupting you too bad, you could redo the edge and hit another nail...
