It's worth looking into i think, there are so many beautiful woods out there that we wouldn't consider using otherwise, even bone would benefit from being stabilized probably, i think basically enough vacuum to remove air and replace it with resin..no clue what pressure that is though :dunno:

Please do keep us posted if you plan to go into this, it surely will be interesting to see how it works from one of us!

all in all i gotta say this was close. day 30 couldn't have come at a better time as there were some other things I needed to take care of on the 31st and all up until today
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Fuzzaxe: post-post-challenge bonus pic

Like Styxy, I've been pretty busy until today, but now I'm as happy as a pig in muck... or a Fuzzaxe in a woodshed - I've just made some sun-dried tomato and olive toasted cheese thingys, I've a bottle of white wine... and Kirk Douglas's The Vikings is on telly!

I'd just like to thank everybody for putting on such a good show!  and to you Nix...  :hatsoff:

Watched Kirk Douglas last night also but in ‘The Final Countdown’ where he was the Captain of the USS Nimitz that goes back in time.

Thanks guys, I'm a lot happier with the fit up of this one :tu:
I am going to leave it for a bit now as it will be a bit slippery until the linseed oil dries, and I want the head to stay solid.
I'm also leaving it a little rough, not going for a super smooth finish. I think that it will help with grip given the lack of palm swell at the end of the handle.
