SAK toy - anny suggestions?
on: February 25, 2019, 02:17:10 PM
Hi folks,

dont be rude on that request, but I am looking for a toy SAK. Really.  :dwts: :sa:

Background: my daughter (1 1/2 years old) already knows pretty darn well where Daddy has his pocket knifes (nightstand and pocket), and she will grab one from time to time and *requests* me to open it. (in fact she begs / cries until I do so). So far she only gets the bottle opener to play with, with which she will eagerly go to nearly all screws she can find and try it out and/or pry or drill whatever she finds.

Now, I already got a knife (again, the "a knife" suggests I only got one, but I stockpiled several Wenger Junior 09 and one or two Vics of the same model)
But she is way too young to get those so far.

So i am looking for advices here. Do you have any recommends about toy knifes?
Or is it a bad Idea to give her a toy to play with at all?

Thinking back and forth, with no final decision.

Regards
Michael

I was going to recommend that one but I see you found my thread :)
Unfortunately I gave that SAK away for the Xmas passaround, so my daughter hasn't got one.
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

I've got one of those for my own collection :D

Reinier, next time I'm at AS and they still have one, I'm grabbing it.

You can have my current one then, if you like.

I bought one of those for my son a few years ago and he loved it, I left a review on the vic website

Quote
From my favourite knife maker this was the perfect knife for my son (admittedly 5 years ago when he was 2). He carried it everywhere, like I do with my Swisschamp, he even slept with it on occasion (I DON'T do that with my Swisschamp). On a serious note it's a great educational tool for teaching small fingers and growing minds why respect for a knife is important.

Got one of those Theo Klein toys for my youngest. The older ones get to use bladeless mods like the double magnifier.
