Cool, I basically did the same with a 6” bolt, but put a pen in it..

it must have been some serious equipment to bore the bolt that distance - industrial lathe? But I guess that's why you're called MadPlumbarian   :tu:

Lol, thanks, see now that’s mad, just eyeballing a drill bit! But I got it on the first try, now the second, *cough cough* um I missed :whistle:
Half way through it came out the side, tossed that bolt in the trash..

I always loved a knurled grip, and while it’s not knurled I grinder the thread a little smoother to give it something similar, beside, if it gets dropped or even runned over by a car the only thing that will break is that plastic tip which is easy to replace being a bic pen..
I sooo want a bolt pen, well that is, but a bolt action pen, one so simple yet the one I really want stopped making them, I wish I could have just an hour on a lathe..
