Great blades and photos today, gentlemen! :like:

Day 6:
Changed it up to one I used to carry(when dressed nicely) when I lived in NY. That is why the bolsters are not polished. :ahhh

Day 6, the Kyocera my grandfather typically uses was misplaced, so I got stuck using my Sonim Bolt. Should have paid more attention to the fact these have horrible cameras. Thinking I'll go with the same phone my Granddad has if I can find one cheaply used.  Or better yet, the DuraForce, which is the smart version of the DuraXE.

Got to visit with both my girls and my new granddaughter today, so my Geppetto had a break.

I'll be keeping my  granddaughter, starting next week, while my daughter goes back to work.

So today, I wanted to share the 3 Musketeers...
CASE Seahorse,
BullDog Viking,
& The Great Eastern Geppetto.

Enjoy.

Day 6

Some really really nice knives being discussed here. The traditional is so appealing as a gentleman's knife. That said, after a week of carry, I'm struggling to bond with my choice of carry, the Buck two bladed stockman. The steel and (custom) grind is great, it looks incredible but the main blade is rather short for a knife with a 4" handle with a cutting edge of 2.48". Falling short for cutting a bun or slicing an apple. Weirdly my custom SAK (91mm) which seems to have an even shorter blade (2.4" cutting edge), doesn't have this limitation. It doesn't fall short with those tasks.  Can't explain it. Perhaps due to the size of the handle I'm trying to make longer cuts than I actually can? That should fix itself in my subconscious with time.

Ron, I admire your skill/courage, I could never convince myself to stick a slipjoint hard into anything since I always worry it might accidentally close on my fingers.

It´s a backlock, actually  :D

Btw, cool backpack, and does it have your name on the pack?

No, that´s not my name. It´s a Nomad Rose 18.

Yeah...I used the Spirits wood saw to cut the tendon for opening the left thumb. Worked like a charm.
Operation will be tomorrow morning

I hope I can keep the challenge updated daily :tu:
Hope you heal up well and quick

I think it's okay, kind of like an old boy scout knife would be fine as well.

Pomsbz, I'm having a hard time envisioning what the issue is. I completely believe you, but I don't quite get it. I actually like a longer handle on my knives. Maybe if I used it for a while I'd understand..... Hey, there's an idea: send it to me and I'll carry it for a year or so.....  :pok: >:D

Seriously, I think one of the great things about these challenges is using a tool for an extended period of time and learning how to use it and what it does feel.....or not so well. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the sweet lookin' Buck at the end of the challenge.   :tu:

Starting my day with a little instant, here too.  Love the Bull Moose. I don't know why exactly, but I think that is just such a fun pattern. I've got one stashed away somewhere......
