Day 17 - I paired the Canoe with no-name lock back with wooden scales.
Blade of lock back cut down cardboard box like going through butter and still razor sharp.

Come on, you know you want to hit the checkout.  Or are you planning on putting more in the cart so you can get the free shipping?

I’m waiting on a package today from SMKW.  I’m blaming it on Nix.
Maybe next week when I get my SS. Need to get the ProMaster build started.

Day: 17

I, too, cut up some cardboard today.  :tu:  (sorry, no action shots.)

The Sodbuster is a great slicer because of it's flat grind and relatively wide blade. I really like the overall blade geometry of this knife. And it's a worker. So I like that.

The edge felt good to me after cutting up the cardboard and sliced paper well still, but I decided to resharpen it anyway. Because I like sharp knives and cardboard is hell on an edge.  :D

I spent a few minutes with a couple of stones and got it back to shaving sharp easily. I typically sharpen free-hand, so I 'painted' the edge with a blue Sharpie to see exactly where I was removing steel. Which would explain why there is still a little blue staining on the blade (this could be easily removed with a little rubbing alcohol, but I've stopped bothering to worry 'bout that step.

(Image removed from quote.)
Nice...I was wondering what the blue was

Opened some small baggies containing o-rings and the like. Also cleaned it a bit today. Used polishing sandpaper to remove some gunk off the tang area and then sprayed it with whatever this is. If it’s good enough for Mercedes-Benz front head covers, it’s good enough for this old girl! Opens smoother now. It’s got it’s snap back! Now I just gotta decide what type of lube to put in there. I usually use fishing reel oil, but it’s thinner and good for those faster moving mechanisms. But what about for these old slippies? Any recommendations? Something with a heavier weight?

Day 17

Peeled an apple with my Opinel today, feels bit overkill to peel apple with it but it does job pretty good.

All Nix’s pictures of his Sodbuster and talk of how much he likes it, led me to give in and buy a Sodbuster Jr
That is so fitting...well done!  :salute:

I tell you what Matty, if we were stranded on a lifeboat in the middle of the Pacific, no hope of rescue - you with the your little saw and me with this knife, I'd be hard pressed to know who'd finish eating each other first.  :dunno:

Day 17.

Gave my Granddad his phone back, swapped SIM and memory card over from the crappy Sonim (great battery, and tough, but everything else sucks) to my older NEC. I'm actually impressed with the quality of this photo; compared to older ones I'd taken. It ain't the camera--it's the photographer!   The NEC's problem was that it would never load webpages correctly. Found it was a cookie issue--there were way too many on the phone.

I actually carried the Case Eisenhower, while the 110 stayed on the dresser. Its only job was cutting up an apple.
