New from Wisconsin
on:
March 20, 2019, 11:49:51 PM
Hi guys, thought I'd introduce myself a little.
I'm retired, hunt, fish, snowshoe, hike, used to ride a Harley but I sold it a year ago, and live in Northern Wisconsin.
My first Leatherman was a gift from a best friend for Christmas in the 80's. It has to be one of the early PST's because it's riveted and has a sheath with Cabelas on it
Then I bought a Micra in the mid 90"s and finally a Wave a few years back.
By the way, I was watching The Last Alaskans last nite, and one of the featured men shot a moose and skinned and broke down the animal with what looked like a WAVE!!! I carry mine when hunting deer, elk and moose but it never entered my mid to actually use it to process the animal.
OH yea, I have the black leather sheath for my Wave with the elastic sides. I couldn't figure what to do with the sleeves on both sides, so I bought a Maglite LED Solitaire, and it fits like it was made for that. Now I also have a small flashlight handy in an emergency.

Welcome to
GreyFox
Either use a photo hosting site like Imgur or if the size of the picture is small enough (under 500kb) you can attach it to the post with the small menu right under where you type a post
I'd love to see some pics of the PST as well

Thank you all for the warm welcome to a chilly Badger. It took like forever to get on this site. I started around 3-4 weeks ago (many times) but for some reason the confirmation email never made the trip. I was ready to give up when wallah........ there it is in my in box today. I'm confused on the posting times here . Right now it's 6:58pm but you guys must be YCT??.
What a country huh..

You have to set the forum time to your own time
if you are on central time I can give it a go and change it to that
that's my time zone as well

Well from the pic I can tell it is a large font made in Japan PST
since all the Japanese made ones have rivets and you already said it did then that fits
the PST Chronology project that is stickied at the top of the Leatherman forum will give you a more exact date though

I never gave it a thought. The handle has LEATHERMAN circle R and TooL small in caps. Pliers just have Leatherman on them same as the knife blade. Brown leather Cabelas sheath.
If you want I'll try to get a better pic tomorrow it that helps.

I admire your control, having multi-tools that early would have made me want to have every one since.
Welcome mate!
Instagram might be the easiest way I've found to host pics atm.
Cheers,
H.G.

Thank You
I went to the PST chronology thread and It looks like mine is a mid 80's Japan. Inch ruler, lanyard hook, Rh can opener. I cannot find any date on it.
So it looks like mine is around 33 yr old and never abused. You can't wear these tools out.
