Hey Suzuki, what part of Ct? JR
So in other words your after what I had custom made, cause those are the same tools I was after! Then I also had a Farmer which was my edc, but then they came out with the pioneerX so then that became my edc, both in which I added a pocket clip to, with the pioneerX you lose out on the saw, nail file, and Philips. But I use the scissors more then the saw so it’s a better tool then the farmer which has the saw, I’m just to nervous to carry the custom one everyday, especially with the old school scales! So it’s my special day carry..JR
Id really love an alox sak but none of them have all the basic tools I require in my edc. How go you guys get around this?
Shoreline currently
Yes, that!
I take it you like that one..JR
I lived in,Hartford,Farmington,Canton,Thomaston,Torrington, and lastlyWinsted..JR
Newington, Hartford, West Hartford and now the shoreline.
I do, where did you aquire it if you don't mind me asking?
New Haven,West Haven,Hamden,Branford,Wallingford,Meriden,New London and the Valley here! My Dad lives in North Haven and has a place is West Haven on the Shore too.
My grandparents lived down in Milford a ways back, my grandfather worked over in Yale university, he told me “never buy a house west of where your going to work,” because for 20yrs he drove east in the morning and west in the afternoon having to stare into the sun each way..JR
That’s the problem with SAKs, it is an exercise in compromise. You always need that one other tool. And just when you think you have most bases covered, it becomes a chore to carry!I drool over the customs SAKs seen on this forum, but I’ve stayed away for these simple reasons: cost and bulk. I feel the standard SAKs are inexpensive workhorses. I can use and replace them freely without concern for loss or damage. An expensive custom is often so exclusive and precious, or too bulky, that it becomes pocket jewelry, a safe-queen, or “special-day” carry , which defeats the purpose of the tool completely! My solution is to have a minimal on-person carry, and then also bag-carry a full sized tool. All of them standard production stuff. I.e. alox Pioneer and 58mm Rambler on person, and LM Rebar in bag. Basic are covered with a light and comfortable to carry EDC, and the rest are available mostly within arms reach.
The magnifying glass is bulky though. And near useless to me...
