Hyper Tough Multi-tool.
on: April 11, 2019, 03:01:46 AM
I guess stating the tool is tough wasn't enough...they had to take it to hyper level!

Here is another cheap and cheerful design with a bit of a twist. I wasn't expecting much from this when I bought it, but was however mildly surprised that both blades and saw have liner locks.

A little Leatherman information.

Wow liner locks! How does it compare to the $10 all locking + pocket clip Mossey Oak? (also Walmart)- & is it same price?

Cool find, Chako! :like:

Wow. Wally world has been selling that tool as a Sheffield for years now. Quite a good tool for $10. :)

Nice to see their house tool brand on it. :like:

When I was still an MT newbie, I bought three of the Sheffield versions. I'll have to go look at the C&C box, but I think there was another company that used the same liner lock chassis with different scales/tools. Maybe Kobalt?

Well. The Kobalt doesn't have an identical chassis, but it was definitely made by the same production company. Same liner lock system, but with different tool finishes/styles.

Here in Canada...totally different product range. If WalMart sold the Sheffield...I would have had one by now. First time I see this Hyper Tough label at that.

Yes, definitely the same tool.  :tu:

I did not know about the differing product ranges.  :ahhh
Thank you for the information, Chako.

Hyper Tough is mostly on their hand tools, power tools, and some electrical stuff(like extension cords) where I'm at.. Hyper Tough tools are fairly good for the money, but are definitely not "Hyper" Tough.

I have the Sheffield version of this tool, but it has a different tool layout then the one pictured here. Mine has a small flathead driver, and large combination can and bottle opener, and a pretty sharp package\clamshell opener. Like most Sheffield brand stuff I have, the quality is not too good. Mine is OK considering how much I paid for it! I have never seen the Hyper Tough version.
