One of my greatest Life Quandaries is that I really prefer to carry an Alox SAK.  I am usually to be found with either a Pioneer, a custom Voyageur, a custom Super Cadet, or any of their ilk.  The only thing I miss about having a cellidor-scaled SAK on my person is the toothpick.  Although I appreciate some of the custom solutions I've seen out there (e.g., Syph's swing-out tray) I've never been truly convinced of these, and they just seem so complicated.  Yes, you can always just carry a toothpick loose, or throw a Classic in your pocket, but I find they get lost or I forget to move it over to today's pants, etc. etc.

So, as I was laying in bed with Juniper the Snoring Wonder Dog this morning, in that half-awake-half-asleep time when your mind wanders and you think about all kinds of weird things and no doubt access different parts of your brain that are not accessible to you during the waking hours, I had a vision!  My wallet is another thing I always have on my person, and it could be easily modified to carry a Vx toothpick without compromising the wallet's function or carry-ability.

Since another of my interests is leather work, and the one I'm carrying now is a design study/production prototype I built out of shell cordovan, I didn't mind altering it for the project.  Check this out:

The toothpick stays in place and is easily re-installed after use.

And when the wallet is folded up, it doesn't cause any problems.

Great looking wallet.

I, too, love Alox, but miss the T&T. Nice solution there!

Nice solution Myron.  I have the same issue with my Midnite MiniChamp (LED and pen), and Alox Vagabond.  I've gutted some paracord (just enough strands to make a good fit), and put the toothpick inside the paracord, as seen in the photo below.

I did a write up about it here:

Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

Thanks you guys!  I'm leaving on a weekend trip with it later today, and will report how it travels and holds up.  Happy to have this solution implemented!

Lisa, I love the paracord solution too!

Thanks! It's a prototype but I'm really happy with it. But the paint is coming of the snap but it's copperish under so that's fine

Nice solutions, all. I find the toothpick essential. I’ll keep these ideas close.

Love this one, excellent solution. I've made similar pouches for change, but never thought about making one for t&t. Will have to add this to the to do list. :hatsoff:

It does the work it's supposed to and after living in my pocket with my alox for some time it looks like this.

Original prototype to the left and 2.0 unused to the right

Kind of like the look of the original better, more streamline, slimmer carry. The 2.0 sure is a looker though.

You should sell them. Or make a few for a GAW or something.

I’d like to find someone to make these...

Just have to build up the confidence and the skill first but the one to the right is third prize in the draw after the challenge
