Last night I would be amazed if I got more than an hours sleep.    I spent all night shivvering and feeling cold and then seconds later feeling very VERY hot.  Because of that, I am now really tired and ache all over.  Just to make things worse, I now feel like I have something floating in my chest, I have a cough and I have a headache AND I am having to leave for work in a couple of hours to work a late shift.

Today is not going to be a fun day.

I feel the exact same way, it must be widespread. It's 610AM here and I spent last night freezing. My house is at 67-68 degrees but I'm wearing a jacket. This sucks because the wife and I were going to get dressed up real pretty and go out tonight.

That's not easy in my job.  I am one of the managers and there has to be one of us on shift at all times.  I called in to see if by any stroke of luck one of the other 3 was on with me tonight but no such joy. 

So basically I am going in whether I like it or not.

My boss is currently on holiday, so therefore I am now the boss.  I would stay at home if I could.

Everyone at work has suffered recently so at least I am not bringing in anything new.

Sorry to hear it mate.  Sounds very like the thing I'm just getting out off.  This is day four for me and I'm feeling more human now.  Day/night nurse capsules worked for me.

It is pretty widespread- these sound like very similar symptoms to what I am going through.  I was wearing all my cold weather work gear in bed Wednesday night, and under two duvets and still was shivering.

The congestion is mostly in my head, not in my chest though... luckily my head isn't really used for much though!

That won't make you feel any better but at least you can rest assured that if you have to suffer then so does the rest of the nation.  The bugs don't have it in for you personally

I recommend too much paracetamol, a decongestant and masses of coffee (cheaper than Red Bull).

Well I survived work and luckily I am on another late tomorrow so I haven't got to get up at 5.30 to go back.  I am hoping a decent nights sleep will at least stop all the aching.

Try rubbing vics vapor rub on your nose and chest, it helps me relieve congestion on my respiratory tract and relaxes me a little. Best of luck benner boy
