Why is the world flooded with dirt cheap Outriders?

At the moment on Ebay Germany you can buy new Outriders for 23 euros including shipping. (Buy four at a time and they're Eur.21.39!)
These are the new ones with liner-locks and a big fat caplifter/ large screwdriver.
The only snag (it's hardly a biggy) is they have Bosch branding on one side.
Obviously this is a great time to pick up an Outrider but I'm wondering how many of these things Bosch commissioned for the price to be so ridiculously cheap. Kind of ruins the market for anyone selling similar 111mm Victorinoxes!

Maybe a group buy between a bunch of us?   Especially when in bulk, the price is cheaper. As if we did one, I am very seriously interested in getting one. I was on eBay Germany looking at them (they were not listed on our eBay). Seller does NOT ship to the United States, unfortunately.   With the upgrades the linerlock update brings, I can see this being a bit more feasible work knife than the old one. Especially the heavy caplifter.


My guess is that this is a promo piece that was either an overrun by the third party who made them up; or a part of a promotion that had tons leftover (as in this was free with a kit or something; like how often, when you buy a set of power tools; they throw in something like a flashlight).

They only ship to EU countries, it seems.
I could buy a bunch of them and ship them out but of course they're not quite as "dirt cheap" when you factor in shipping.
It's possible to send a small padded envelope to the USA or Australia for as little as Eur 3.70 but that's without tracking and if the thing disappears in the post (as happens, sadly) you're screwed.
Far better is to go for the "Einschreiben" option which I think means registered. You get a tracking number and the addressee has to sign on delivery. This brings the shipping cost to Eur. 6.20 which I think is very reasonable. I have sent a few things to the USA and Thailand this way and nothing (so far) has disappeared in the post.
So the total would be 21.39+6.20 = 27.59 which is still a pretty good bargain. Add 50 cents or so for the padded envelope.
If a few people express interest I can get some of these. I imagine they won't be this cheap forever so if anyone is interested now's the time to say so!

Yup, the seller ships to EU countries, but to me it would be almost 40 Euros for the shipping alone ( €37,80) .

So, Thunderpants, if you'd be willing to forward one to me in Croatia, I'd be grateful. :hatsoff:
