Stihl folder. Is SRG the manufacturer?

This is an inexpensive folder I got from the local Stihl dealer last time I was in there.

Other than "Made in China" this is the only other clue to manufacturer

It's a pretty good little blade, although the handle construction is a bit cheap.  Still pretty nice as a promotional item

Yup.  Got 2 Stihl chainsaws and a gas hedge trimmer too.  That's why the dealer gave me a promotional knife.

That wasn't what he was asking though.

Mr Whippy, I would guess SRG is the manufacturer, but I have never heard of them before.

I'm back!!

Me neither. :-\

Which gets me to thinking; I wouldn't feel so bad about Chinese knives and tools if the manufacturers there at least had the decency to stamp their logo on the blades. At least that way a person would know which Chinese factory they came from. But this whole business of every single thing coming out of China just having the word CHINA stamped on it makes the manufacturer anonymous. Like they purposely don't want you to know exactly where an item came from. Like they are trying to hide something. Which judging by the typical quality of Chinese goods is completely understandable.

When they start taking enough pride to stamp their logo on an item, then perhaps I'll feel better about Chinese products. (and perhaps this SRG company is an example of that)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Craftsman has kershaw now making some of thier blades. I for one am a huge fan of the Kershaw Chubby which you only get from Sears or Snap_on. Great blade for the cost, and if it gets destroyed bring it back. I have exchanged 2 in 3 years now.
