CyberTool scale change
on: May 14, 2019, 12:18:55 PM
I have the option to replace the scales on my CyberTool. Welcome suggestions from the forum before I decide.  :salute:

Although my favorite color is black, when it comes to SAK's my second preferred color is always the traditional red. I like the looks of the translucent scales, but I feel they're not that practical, they magnify the effects of wear and tear. (And blue is simply just not my thing.)

I recently bought a black CyberTool 34 on eBay, but I didn't care for the black scales (I think they look much better on the 111mm knives, where the logo is red and white instead of just white).  I changed them to traditional red, because I like that iconic look.

I for one actually don't mind the Translucent Red and think they are pretty too...actually all those colors would look nice, and you probably can't go wrong with either of them.

Thanks all and comis. Of course the answer is to have three (or more) CyberTools.  :pok:

I vote to keep the translucent red scales. I have a CT41 that came with what seemed to me to be teal translucent scales, but I swapped those out for new blue translucent ones and I never looked back. These types of scales will show scuff marks and dings more than the standard solid color scales, but I have always found that they polish up quite easily with some polishing compound and a little elbow grease. Also, I think the translucent scales lend themselves to the overall feel of the Cybertool series.

Nice job! I just wish scales were more easily found. My CT34 came with hunter green scales, which I really liked. Unfortunately, they were badly warped, and had to go. I was stuck with red Plus, because that's what was on the Super Tinker I took them off of.

We dont see enough blue and it looks great.  My bud here on the forum gave me the blue scales and I couldn't be happier.  I almost put them on my Explorer and should have but my Deluxe Tinker has them.  Here it is with CT in translucent red.
