Removing company logo from economy scales
on: May 12, 2021, 09:55:07 PM
Hey guys, got a great deal on a NIB Vic Golf Tool that has a company logo on the scale.  Does anyone know a safe and effective way to remove the painted on logo without damaging the scale itself?  Thanks in advance.

Hi there, austin83. I've read about people using a high grit sandpaper and then some plastic polish compound, but haven't tried it myself. I trust someone will be along to help you with that.

In the mean time, take a look at this:

I'm not sure about nylon. Sanding and polishing seems like a bad idea.
Maybe some kind of paint remover that does not affect nylon
You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

I don’t know, but with nylon, I would try an alkaline cleaner. If I were to experiment...ammonia, easy-off oven cleaner, bleach are what I’d test probably in that order, all diluted for initial tests.

Felix Immler has a video for celidore scales.  I, too, would be cautious about nylon.
