I'm watching an excellent program at the moment on BBC4 - Normandy:The Battle Beyond D-Day. Unusually for the BBC, it seems to be very accurate, to the point and free of revisionist crap. Well worth watching on Iplayer, if you can get it.
Is this it ?
Lest we forget .When I was 17 years old (back in '94), me and two of my friends visited Normandy one month before the big 50 Years Anniversary of the landing. We spend 5 days there and it was one of the most impressive things I've seen right up to this moment. I always thought we would remember these mind blowing events for ever, as a kid I spend hours listening to the stories told by my grand parents about World War II, one of my grandfathers even told stories about World War I, even though he was only 6 or 7 years old during World War I.But when I see or hear the lack of interest some of the young people show in these turning points in European history, I fear the worst. Luckily, not all of the youngsters are like that, so there's still hope ...
Ok I’m confused, you were 17 during 94, yet 6-7 during WW1 JR
Probably dropped a "great".I came along like 20 years after T-G, and I've got pictures of me with my (Spanish) great-grandparents, who were born in the 30's.Europeans.
Show content You were kidding right ? Or did I really scr*w up my post that much ?
