First one I’ve seen for sale in the states in months.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Victorinox-Man-on-the-Moon-Special-Edition-2019-Tinker-Pocket-Knife/224124330541

Not mine, in case that’s not clear. Curious how high it’ll go. Prices are a bit crazy internationally like in the $500+ range from what I remember. I guess we’ll see if there’s any pent-up demand here.

I got mine for $250 and felt stupid/lucky right after they released and were sold out. The only reason I did it was because July 20th is my birthday. Crazy what special models go for these days. Watching this item on eBay out of curiosity as well.

I have to agree that you were lucky.  :tu:

Funny how our perceptions change about value like this!

I guess this one didn’t reach escape velocity. ‘Only’ went for $350 USD + shipping.

Still makes that $250 one a pretty good deal, IMO

Gotta wonder what my user would fetch on the ‘bay.

Numbers 0012 and 0014 are listed in Austria for $2,600 USD. I guess the seller is keeping 0013?

I’m guilty of it at times. Especially with vintage ones. Luckily, I get outbid by people willing to be more stupid!

I, too, am guilty. And thankfully, more often than not, I am also outbid by someone else with even less good sense than I.

I just count myself fortunate that this particular model doesn’t hold a strong draw for me.

You just wait!

Just kidding. Exercise your common sense. See how far that gets you.  :D

Prices haven’t softened much for the 4th US one sold recently.

I wonder what my user would go for at auction.

I think you might be surprised.  These knives have held their value like I never imagined.

Yeah, you’re probably right Barry. And I thought the values would slump a bit more here. Really surprised about the international values.

Like the Apollo 20th knives, I thought they’d take some time to appreciate much if at all.

MOTM #1281 appears to have sold recently at $800 via auction with a single bidder…or at least it doesn’t look like via best offer. Crazy.

The 20th Anniversary is the one I love.  At least it has some connection to the US Space Program.

Yeah, not many of those have been up for sale since I last posted about them in this thread.

Maybe more will show up for sale in 2024.
