Flashlight help
on: July 21, 2019, 08:52:17 PM
I'm looking for a flashlight with a angular? head. The type where you can have both a regular flashlight and change the angle so it also works at 90°.

Figured this must be the place to ask
Any one got any suggestions?

I only know of the few that I have but would love to know if there are any more that convert this way?

Rofis makes small handheld models in 4 different battery sizes and mine is great.better than I expected actually.

Streamlight makes a few models that are much bigger and designed first for emergency responders and again I love the one that I have which is the Knucklehead.

Nicron N7 I got for $10 on Amazon prime day, but it lists for $14, also has tailcap magnet, pretty nice for the money.

I know Fenix makes the FENIX WT20R.  I do not have it but I have several of there other lights and know that they tend to make some quality lights.

Perhaps taking a step back, what do you plan to use the light for that you need this functionality?  I only ask because this requirement will severely limit your options, when you might possibly be better served by a more standard flashlight with some sort of mount, holder, or similar accessory.

It just feels like a good feature.
If I'm out in the woods and it gets dark I can attach it to my backpack or a pocket and angle the head so I can have some light to see where I'm going.
Or as a work light it's very conveniant to have the possibility to adjust the angle.
I have several "normal" lights and headlamps, but now I kind of want to try one with adjustable head

So I might go with the cheapest suggestion here just to try one

That Nicron seems like an interesting light especially for the money but no low and angry blue tint makes it unlikely that I will give them a try.

Nitecore also has this one which I just forgot about somehow?

Have you considered something like a zebralight headlamp. Gives you the abbility to use it as a flashlight, a headlamp with the strap, and as an. angular light with the two way oriented pocketclip. They are excellent lights and this way you only cry once.

I have a Olight that has a fixed 90° head with the headlight strap.
But I'm kinda locked on trying the adjustable head lights now.

It's not really blue, kinda on low end of cool white temps, almost warm

You can get the Rofis R2 for about $20 on Amazon(not sure if it's USA only) . Includes a headband, lanyard, clip, charging cable and 14500 Lion battery. There is a coupon code available through Vipon.com - i've used the site before and many on BLF use it so it's legit, just need to make an account, do a search for flashlight and filter upcoming deals to see when it is live again.

This is the amazon link, it works better on applying the discount if you add it to cart and put the code in at checkout

Just checked and they don't ship to Sweden, but that is normal with Amazon.
But thanks anyway

Update:
Got the Nicron N7, and so far I like it!
Now I just need to get a 14500 battery to test the max lumens, but it's bright enough on a AA battery, and it's nice to be able to choose different batteries.
Very handy for work :tu:
