I could never understand Winchester marketing. They will plaster their name on anything...including some really cheap and terrible multi-tools. I always prefer the Gerber sliding plier Winchesters over the butterfly style Winchesters. Good finds however.  :tu:

I'm working on a second chest from the Polish army, this is one for my VICTORINOX CLASSICs and other small SAKs so it won't be in olive drab but in red and white.  :hatsoff:

I don't know why, but I have a vague idea that I read somewhere that the pivots on the fakes were a different diameter - but I could be completely wrong (I haven't tried them for compatibility myself)

You're correct. As far as the example I have versus the real 600, the pivots aren't even close to being the same. The fake 600 pivot bolts are notably smaller. I transplanted a fake DET file into my 600,  and it required opening the hole up quite a bit.

Though they may have changed the fake DET design since the version I have.
