The VOS/CB tang stamp was used for a very long time. By the early-mid '60s the stamped areas of the tang would be well polished and not milled or machine finish.

If the small blade spacer is 'thin' and nickel silver, I'd say '65 is possible!

Would look like this:

Learnt something new today, thank you!

Day 10, a healthy snack before bed.

(Image removed from quote.)

Great pics and pics again, kinda feeling outclassed to be honest. Well, if luck be with me I may get some candidates during the challenge. Or I could look trough my cabinet again.
Yummy for sure on the snack!

Day 10

Ugly, wet weather outside, very lazy, quiet Sunday at home. My choice for today, the Andventurer - Traveler with locking blade? great choice for urban/office EDC in my book! - saw little use apart from some minor nail filing.
Ok, that is an interesting back ground!  :tu:

Day 10

Yeoman  Of all the discountinued models, this is one of the few that I will actually use since I could mod one if I ever really do damage or lost it.  Personally, the combo tool is really a weight saver here, making this one of the most functional SAK at 4 layers.

I have two SwissChamps that will be getting mod...a Yeoman and another Woodsman will be the choices!

Day 11
Used the scissors on the Yeoman to cut some double sided craft adhesive to help keep some wool insoles in place.  Then used the combo tool to help peel the paper off the adhesive pieces.

Nice birth year SAK!

November 9 & 10 - used the Yeoman to open some mail on Saturday, Sunday I used the Yeoman's combo tool  to remove a broken vent plug from a gas can.  Hopefully some more work for the Yeoman later today.
Cheers!

Day 11

Altimeter Plus, basically is a Huntsman with really cool tech scales on top of it.  Since this is a collection piece, I usually just kept the battery out of the SAK in case of leak.  But I do think this matte translucent scale is cool, and probably more durable than the regular tranlucent scales

It's kind of curious for a certain period of time, we do see clip point being a common tools in Vic and Wenger, probably because of the popularity of Bowie?  But then as time progress, we go back to the original spear point.

I was curious because I already have that Award. If it’s the same, I won’t be concerned about missing any days during this challenge.

Rapidray - nice knife and even nicer as it’s your birth year knife! :like:
Kamakiri- it could be nickel silver, but a little hard to tell - thanks for the info!

Day 11

Hiked out to the local gun shop (5miles away) with my Master craftsman/astronaut in my pocket to get some more targets (I missed a rat on Sunday despite having the crosshairs spot on - turned out the sights did need adjustment!), so used it on the scope to make adjustments, and then the postie called with a new squirrel feeder, so used the scissors to remove the tag:

Squirrels, and all birds are welcome diners, but not rats......

Even ones with pink noses? Or is that a mouse?  :pok:
