Yepp, and I just pulled the trigger  :D Not a Solo though. I found a Compact on sale so I ordered that one, plus black plus scales. The scales are a compromise, but I think I can live with it. The pen should come in handy when I get bored during those fancy events

Oops. Didn’t see that. Well, you can still keep my PX idea in the back of you mind, just in case.

I had no idea that would work  Sounds interesting. Will test it if I ever get my hands on a pioneer  :tu:

The Wenger is 65mm while the Classic is 58mm.  The main blade is a little longer as well as wider.  I'm confident it can handle steak now.  I'll post up pics later when I grill chicken tonight.

I was also thining the Executive in black would be awesome but I see you got something.  The 74mm from Victorinox is a really great size.

Congratulations on the Compact.  It's a great little tool.  I've been carring mine faithfully sense the day I got it.  It has become #3 on my most used tool list, just behind my Spirit, and Zebralight SC62.  This little clip/pull set up is just the best IMHO for pocket carry.

Hope you like yours just as much.

My official formalwear carry is a Victorinox Director; but I often wear a pair of Columbia hiking pants when I can get by with them (i.e. I feel I should dress up nicely, but there is no dress code). They look like dress pants, but have six pockets. Positioned behind the tradiitonal right front pocket is a big zippered pocket that can hold a ton of stuff. There is also a pocket on the leg, which I typically tote my cellphone in. That way, I can carry basically everything I need. In my opinion, anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, so it's best to be prepared to handle anything, even if I'm at some fancy event.

I do the same with some of my 5.11 pants  But these upcoming events it is not working, so no way I can carry the Handyman or the Rebar. Never heard of the Director, i have to look it up  :tu:

As I thought the Wenger has no problem with chicken.  I also cut a baked potato.

The size differences of 58mm, 65mm, and 74mm.  I'd say 74mm would be a great size but the 65mm was terrific tonight.

In SS scales it looks quite stylish IMO too.  If you like the Classic the Esquire is a nice "bigger" option and SS scales kinda spiffs it up.

I found a couple of boxed directors in a store a few years ago, one for smart events and one for the collection.  Beautiful looking little knives, I will dig them out for the discontinued sak challenge.

My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.
