Westward Stainless Steel Multi-Tool

Does anyone own this multi-tool? What do you think of it? It has SS handles, looks solid and very well made. It looks better than the Free P4, regardless of the lack of scissors ::)

$48 may be more expensive and rival things like the Wingman/Sidekick and MP600 that are made in the USA, but I admit, I like it. Nothing at all seems cheaply thrown together (as is on many; if not most "off brand" tools.  But just looking at it, it is definitely superior to entry level LMs and the Gerber Suspension for sure.  And this just doesn't look like some inexpensive design Westward stuck their label on (as do most off-brands).

While Westward is a global tool brand, it seems here in the States, it's exclusive to Grainger.  I am really, really tempted to pick one up myself. Maybe if it goes on sale...

Does look half decent. We need one of our off-brand experts (GLBM?) to chime in here.  :dunno:

Pretty good copy of the Wave, but it's missing the scissors.

LOL. Sorry. :D

It is the WorkPro HD tool being branded differently.
It is a big strong tool that weighs a lot.

It is the HD indeed(in the background of the video). The small one in the video is pretty lame compared to the HD though. Having sharp blades and scissors(what is his ridiculous obsession with having smurfing scissors and can opener on everything anyway?) doesn't always make a cheaper made tool better than a well crafted behemoth of a tool(WorkPro Heavy Duty). Blades can be sharpened, but junky non-locking tools(the 15-in-1 he reviews) is not anywhere near the quality of the HD.

Kind of, if having the lock release pull away from the tool is the idea. In function though, they are quite different. The P series locks opposing the implement on an extended tang, while the WorkPro locks on a notch in the tang. The WorkPro is equivalent to most push lever lock systems, but with the release end on the other end of the lever release. The P series provides locking with the pivot being sort of a fulcrum, so it is more secure. The WorkPro HD/4" lock is really beefy, so it works very well too. :)
