Compasses, a map of Rocky Mountain National Park, and a camouflaged SAK.

I took the liberty of downloading the pic, Gene. I opened it in Picasa Photo Editor and hit the autocontrast button. The result is below, I think it looks much better, at least on my screen.

It makes me wonder who else uses any photo editing software. I almost always do.

I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one with a love for SAKs and Compasses  :D

And now I'm going to show this topic to my wife, so she can see that there are others like me ...  :pok:

She went from thinking "maybe you're actually quite normal" to "you're all equally crazy" in two seconds ...

This is my favorite and most accurate mini compass I've ever used.

For everyone but especially the UK guys.....an old Short & Mason Ltd (London) brass compass.  Top is pressed on and pushes down a needle lock when on.  Only found that the business started in 1864 and I guess dissolved in 1901.  Very solidly built.

The 2nd is an Airguide Pocket compass that is induction (magnetically) damped.  Works well and very solid......made in the USA in the 40’s or 50’s I think (pre zipcode).

3rd is an earlier version of the Wenger Orienteering tool (compass is different) on an old Matterhorn Plus.  They will all point to the same North when they are not bunched up.......😜
