Winchester Gentlemn's Kit.
on: August 31, 2019, 01:29:32 PM
I found this in a bargain shop in the middle of nowhere off Highway 17 (Trans-Canada Highway) of all places. This kit is so old that the plastic shell has started to yellow. A good find however.

Made by a subsidiary of Gerber, or should I say Fiskars.

Still sealed.

Yes, a good find in the most unlikeliest spots. You just never know.

These seem to be slightly better than those I got a few years back. Seems as though they had Sheffield make these.

Most of what I had from similar sets was useless junk. Nothing ever worked right, and they couldn't hold an edge. I know one person who regularly uses a fixed blade that is identical to the one in my set--and he says he has to sharpen it pretty much every time he uses it. Basically the only thing out of the set I used was a sheath, since it fit a small German-made fixed blade I'd been given.  And besides, in the 2008 set, they used a form of celluloid--and it had started to outgas on one of the knives.
