Fresh, clean shine. Lost the pin because the outside liners are no longer flush with the scales.

Nice industrial pic BC  :like:

Can try pressing the SAK in a vice to flatten wayward scales? I’m a bit lazy and use a hard rubber kinetic hammer to close up my scales (a good whack between cardboard, CS opened).

........ same here
At some point I really torqued with the backside Phillips and it bent the liner.

I guess that’s why many prefer the inline option?

From checking out your mods I am half tempted to buy a lot of SAK's, throw them in a box and give them to you with a note saying "work your magic"

Hah! Thank you BC.  :hatsoff:

I’m still tinkering with a few ideas. Carrying the Explorer this last week let me appreciate this SAK. But I think I want to change the small blade to an inline awl as I always seem to be opening packages, scraping/scoring things and making holes. All tasks the awl is perfect for. Just a shame you need a Pioneer as donor.

Yeah, hefty price for one implement. Maybe if one could mount the 93mm big blade too. Comparing apples to apples bladewise I guess.

This piping is part of the district heat. No boilers in the downtown area that I know of. Maybe small old business but all the scrapers and other buildings have district! I want to tour the heat plant!

You are not the first one with that idea  :D

A 93mm Fieldmaster with inline philips and awl please. Max, if you ever figure out how to do that give me a call. The box with donors will be in the mail the next day  :D

Belly of the 93mm blade too deep and catches on the middle pin. Can switch it around 180 degrees and have it pivot the other end (like on the file backspring shown below). Would mean moving the layer to the other side so the awl is still accessible from the outside. Problem is the backspring is too narrow so would need to fabricate a new one which is too much effort. Easier just to use the standard 91mm blade and thin down the awl to be the thickness of the small blade it replaces. This has worked for me before.  :salute:

Yeah would be nice. As you can see from my comment above, there are some restrictions on what is compatible between 91 and 93mm. I’ve focused on 91mm mods as they have the most variations so you can really mix things up. Not so with the 93mm. But some parts are usable with a bit of work. I use the combo tool from the 84mm Waiter for my Yeoman mods, and the 93mm awl works when skimmed down. I’ve pushed the limits of reprofiling backsprings to accommodate different tools, some mods work better than others. At the point now where I know what can work and what won’t, and I’m comfortable to rebuild mixing the layers up and making minor adjustments such as getting the back awl on a saw layer (Yeoman WS).

Don't know if this 'qualifies' as a "Sunshine SAK", but it does dazzle!  8)
