My Dad was a pilot and wholeheartedly agreed.  He also was a VW Beetle lover, saying he could work on them because of the similarities between the air cooled engines.  He mounted a compass out of a Piper on the dash of my first car, a 66 Beetle.  I'd love to have both the compass and the car back!!

Little known fact: Queen Elizabeth II EDC's a Swisschamp and has been known to take it out and use the scissors to cut stray threads on Prince Philip's uniform, or the tweezers to remove ticks from the Corgi's. Asked which tool she would ditch if she had to, she said 'One could well do without the fish scaler, as one has a man to do that. One is thinking of removing the scaler, pliers and metal saw, and replacing the small blade with the in-line awl from ones spare SI, and finish it off with some dashing emerald plus scales to make ones fantasy model that one likes to call The Greenwood'.

True fact.

Is this a put-on? In the era of fake news, I like to know how to verify this.
Thanks
Rich

Complete truth 😳.  I have it on good authority that the Queen also donated her luxurious SAK to magentus when she found him selling really nice swampland for a very good price without a good SAK to complete his daily task.

You can tell because it mentioned the Greenwood, a SAK that Mags made.
It's good, but I don't think queenie would know about it....

Spinning entertaining tall tales is a classic British past time, IMHO. :D
I want to master the art of it...
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Author Richard Bach mentions carrying a SAK in a number of his books
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!
