Compact mag+lite Ti+

You know what it’s like, “why doesn’t Vic make this Knife?” is a question I’m sure we’ve all asked ourselves as our collection (hoard, surely? Ed.) seems to lack that EDC we know our pocket really wants.... Well, you do the research, check the tools you want, research again as certain combinations seem not to exist, go through the options and settle on the ideal - in my case, 3 layer knife, scissors, bottle opener, file, magnifier, torch, pen, corkscrew, mini-screwdriver.....exotic material scales (I’m self-confessed Ti nut, don’t judge!)....hmm only Vic I know of that has a mag and torch in the same knife and layer is the cyber tool lite, yikes they’re pricey, especially as it’s a first attempt at modding.... But, I see one for a very reasonable price, source the compact which will give the other tools I’m looking for, and oops I’m on the slippery slope buying Ti plus scales from Daily Customs in Germany, brass rods off eBay and I’m the best part of £200 in, and no idea what I’m doing. Too late now! Read the threads here (lots of valuable tips, guys, many thanks!) and find YouTube cyber champ series - by far and away the best guide I’ve come across, and I’m now feeling brave enough to start. Well, several hours later, much swearing, a few cuts, and I’ve 2 disassembled knives, ready to back together- I’ve got enough for the dream EDC and a cybertool 34, but looking at pics of the ct34, it strikes me that the bit holder really needs to be in the middle, so I put it together, and after several attempts (my tip to all first time modders is don’t close the rivets until you’ve tested that the layers work - those spacers are very specific!) voilà, my take on ct34

Nor everyone’s choice of tools, but it does me! Another tip, use PTFE dry lube to help with that snap of the tools - another view

Many thanks, Rapidray - looking forward to “christening” it with some bottle opening later - Theakston’s Old Peculier should do the trick

Here’s another view, this time as a pen and with the Ti EDC pen which it’ll be replacing.

This was the final stage - waiting 14 hours for the epoxy to cure.....

I know - not sure which cured faster, the “bites” from the liners and scissors sustained during assembly, or the expiry resin holding the Ti scales on!! But worth the wait!

It’s crossword time, and my new companion assists with opening some brain lube while a Ti nibbled Ti pen does the scribble honours....

Thanks, SteveC!
McStitchy - good question, and I’m not sure what to call it, hence the Compact+mag+lite Ti+ thread title, but it could be a Yeoman who lost his Philips and found a torch!! The Ti+ scales from Daily Customs let you fit pen, tweezers and toothpick, but not the pin (always fall back on the Swisscard lite in my wallet if I really need a pin!) - I quite like Nightly Crossworder, or even Knightly Crossworder (assembly certainly turned the air blue as the spacer beneath the combo tool kept escaping!!)....
