Day 30

Final Thoughts on the Final Day

So here we find ourselves at the closing day of this rather tedious and, perhaps, complete waste of time and effort. But I did it all for you. Yes, my sacrifice is, I pray, your gain in knowledge and wisdom.

Posting every morning for a month on a subject of less than interesting value has been amusing, to be honest. I've learned a lot about lower-end multi tools, their strengths and shortcomings.

Are these tears of sadness pricking the corners of my eyes for the loss I will feel tomorrow morning when I awake to find myself without the need to post yet another image of these matching cheap Chinese implements? Not a chance!

For all the hours spent, the countless images posted, for the thousands of words I composed...my exhaustive efforts will be immortalized in one small token consisting of the following epitaph: 30 OFF BRAND.

Final Thoughts: I sincerely want to thank all of you who took the time out of your busy days to read this thread. At the time of this writing, I have reached 1729 views. I thought I would have been fortunate to have a couple hundred. So a genuine thanks from me!

This was a great challenge to follow. One question must be asked: what will be the fate of the Home Depot multis?

Day 31

BONUS ENTRY: The Fate of Farmer X

Back by popular demand and by the prodding of Farmer X (yes, you have him to blame for me continuing this thread), I felt it necessary to compose yet another post. It seemed fitting to reveal the finale; the culmination of my month of frustration.

Perhaps this is a fate worse than death (see photo). Living one's existence in a landfill consisting of other refuse from individuals who tired of the products they drained their hard-earned money on... yea, the futility of the utter uselessness of said items.]

But alas, I must content myself acknowledging my eyes will never again burn with the unintentional brief glance upon these two contrivances... offensive, annoying, dangerous, obstructive, unhealthful.

Thank you for your service and dedication Diamond.  I know this wasn't easy for you.  I could not have done it. :salute:  You have me questioning everything I have learned about multitools over the years.  Why on God's good, green earth would anyone spend almost $200.00 on the latest Leatherman when one could have had the pair of these for all of $5.00??! :dunno:  It seems now that my money was wasted in what appears to have been the acme of foolishness.

Well said, Alan.

There can be but one conclusion to your awakening and one conclusion only...

Gather all those tools that, when purchased, stole not only your hard-earned money, but your very soul, place them gently, but without remorse in a well padded corrugated container, transport said container to the nearest shipping facility and have them convey it to my location.

I believe peace will be restored to you.  :multi:

I thank you for your obvious genuine concern for my welfare, and your generous offer to unburden me of my tools, but you've already been through so much for the benefit of the rest of us that I just couldn't subject you to any additional hardship.  I'm afraid that in penance for my sins I'm just going to have to keep all of my expensive tools.  Probably even carry and use them occasionally.  They are my burden, my cross to bear, my albatross; to remind me that I am weak willed and human.  That includes the Gerber Dual Force which hasn't even arrived yet.  Ordered directly from Gerber during their ongoing 50% off End of Summer Sale.  https://www.gerbergear.com/en-us/shop/featured/sale#aq=%40categories%20%3D%3D%20(%22sale%22)&numberOfResults=19
