Very impressive!  I like the inline awl, and while I also think it's great you got the corkscrew AND backside phillips, I've always been a bigger fan of the inline phillips.

Still, a very nice mod!  Did the awl come from the 93mm models?

Thanks zenderfall, yes the awl’s from a 93mm Pioneer.  :hatsoff:

Beautiful SAK.  :drink: I have a question?  It apears between the first and last photos there was a change in the scales and outside liner for the phillips.  Is this the case and what prompted the change?

  Never mind, upon closer inspection it's an optical illusion created by the corkscrew be opened and the lighting.  Almost got excited and thought you had come up with a way to add another backside tool.   Hook possibly.  Oh well still a stunning mod. :hatsoff:

I love the Phillips and Corkscrew design.  Plus it being 3 layers, that packs a lot of tools for its size.  :like:

Fantastic!  I can't believe you got both the corkscrew and the Philips on the back.  I love the name too!

Thanks everyone, and well spotted smiller43147.  :hatsoff:

The openers are reversed so that I could use them with the backspring from the blades layer, so I could squeeze the Phillips on the back in the unconventional location. The tin opener is not as ‘deep’ as the cap lifter. Nails nicks still accessible as they sit next to the scissors.

Thanks Rizio.  :hatsoff: it does limit the tool choices to a Climber / Super Tinker configuration, but I’m OK with that and keeping it to 3 layers.

Great job again, Max.   :tu:

I read about lowtech's question in the original thread--without the shims, I am curious will peening alone be able to resolve/overlook the 0.4-0.5mm different between opener-tools vs phillips? Do all tools snap close and open like the originals? :pok:

I remembered I have to put in 0.3-0.4mm shims when I put the phillips into the openers layers during my mod, to eliminate side-to-side play or over tightness at certain pivot(though our methods are different).  It'd save the hassle if I could just peen it closed without the concern.

Hello comis. I ground the opener backspring and Phillips down to 2mm thickness to match the openers (removed about 0.3mm). So no shims needed. Snap is good but cap lifter tool needed the pivot shape reprofiled to get the correct opening angles.

Phillips and corkscrew has been done before, but I don’t think as a 3-layer Climber base with inline awl.
