Sorry but I'm not sure.  Only thing I have to say is it's not a soddie without the birdseye pivot.

I can understand that point of view.

I thought so. Remembering picnic table sagging from the entire colorful assortment :drink:

I need to reinforce that table  :D

Nice collection, David! :tu: Hopefully you'll be able to get a new swing guard on the Cheetah. And what pattern number is the little swayback?

The swayback is a :Case Navy Blue Bone Sway Back Gent, CA-7058.

Yeah I lost the swing guards on that cheetah about 15 years ago and hadn't gotten it fixed yet.

I did forget a case, I have a Russlock in red plastic with an American shield.

I haven't collected Case in a while since I started collecting SAKs, but I have a good chunk. Mainly Trappers but an assortment of others too. Here are some pictures I have from the past. Might have to snap some new ones soon.

Sorry but I'm not sure.  Only thing I have to say is it's not a soddie without the birdseye pivot.

I SEE your birds eye view of this observation.

However, back when this pattern was introduced and adopted by farmers and the hard laborers of this continent. The sod Buster style folder was made of carbon steel blades and either wood or synthetic materials for its handles.  A reinforced pivot pin would be required to keep the handles from splitting and to keep the blade in place.
These knifes were not made with bone, stag or other hard materials.

Back a while I did some learning on the Sod Buster.   Found only a few requirements. From memory.

1. single Blade folder.
2. Blade is a Drop point shaped design,
3. No metal BOLSTER in either end of the handle.

No mention about the pivot pin washer🧐 Likely not needed definition because of materials utilized.

Just thinking!

Case Three Dot, Two Dot Hawbaker Special. This knife is about as close to mint as you can get.

You likely already know this David, the “3dot” and tang stamp indicate a 1977 made model.

The “2 dot” with the same stamp is a 1978 made model.

I would be interested to know the actual model number of rack knife. Usually a 4 or 5 digits number scheme.
The combination of blade types has me curious🤓

You are correct they are both nice and one looks as if was tucked away for a rainy day that never happen. 🥲
