Fish Scaler swap for Straight Edge Razor?

So I got thinking...how about using the fish scaler backspring for a nice straight edge razor? Could be a great shaving tool?  :dunno:

Keep the mini-cocktail fork tip so you can still prod things...

Any other ideas of a tool that could fit the space, and keeping to 1.55mm?

Spent a few hours with a local knife maker who specializes in straight edge razors. Will be difficult to make a proper shaving razor as these are super-thin highly hollow-ground off quite a wide spine, so it would be unstable if made within the limitations of the fish scaler layer.

We’ve agreed to rather go for a reverse recurve with tanto point. Something very different. Drawing to follow soon and probably will only get done later in October.

Oh, and he’s going to show me how to cold draw 2,2mm brass rod! That will be an exiting exercise by itself (pics promised).

He also encouraged me not to be constrained by the existing backsprings. Just make a wider custom backspring if you want to build a SAK with a unique tool...mmm...the possibilities.  :think:
