Great Eastern Cutlery Beer and Sausage Vs Leatherman Flair

Two interesting tools, created at time when their respective companies were at the top of their game.

The GEC costs about $110 from a dealer and the flair, in good condition, about the same, on eBay.

They both have forks, unusual for a multitool/multiknife.

The GEC has a more solid frk, possibly too solid.

The Leatherman has scissors, butter knife, and a corkscrew, not so common on tools.

However, the GEC has a beard comb which really beats the Leatherman in terms of the most unusual tool.

Both have very good construction.

The Leatherman has a slim serrated blade and the GEC  a plain edge, larger blade.

Only one has pliers...

It is funny as the idea of using a tool to loosen oily, rusty screws and then to eat your food seems less upsetting to some people than using the comb to comb your washed beard and then using it to eat your food.

 .  I appreciate fun had when companied put out tools like these.  Beard comb  .  Thats just fun.  Fork  .  At some point we'll eat something that requires a fork.  Good job GEC and LM.

How is the walk and talk on your B&S  ? The two I had and sold were terrible, very weak springs. No snap at all on the comb and very little on the blade and on one you had to help the balde to close

Not bad, The comb spring is weak but OK for the use.

You should have tried cleaning them as that seemed to work for some on BF.

Some minor blade play on one, if you really looked for it.
