Fieldmaster February
« on: October 08, 2019, 11:24:35 AM »
I've owned a Fieldmaster for the better part of 2 years and have yet to put it to use.  In response to some interest in this unsung hero, I'm announcing a Challenge slated for February 2020 for anyone interested in putting their Fieldmaster to work!

I carried the Fieldmaster after my SwissChamp felt a bit too bulky. Just the right size for a pocket, and a nice set of tools, although I replaced that with the Deluxe Tinker. And now I am thinking of upgrading from that to the Cybertool M. But I like the Fieldmaster very much. Gonna have to think about which challenge I do... :think:

I'm in; with the caveat that mine will need to be sent to Vic to be rebuilt (I absolutely wrecked it as a kid), or another model purchased.

I’m in.  The Fieldmaster is one of my favorite models, despite not seeing a lot of carry time.

You should definitely join us and have plenty of time to acquire the Fieldmaster.  The Fieldmaster is a lesser known variation on the Huntsman with backside Phillips in place of corkscrew and appreciated by many who give it a chance.

HOW could I not accept an invitation from you SOS24, written so eloquently!

A Fieldmaster is now on my radar.

Yet, there is one problem.

I am scheduled out of country the first week of February for a security detail. One of my duties is to be “the bikini string knot untie r.”  And for that assignment I use my Climber’s corkscrew.

A work around could be asking for a volunteer during a emergency and I just supervise, not actually USING the tool. ;)

:rofl::rofl:
If someone is tying their bikini so tight that you need a corkscrew to untie it, then either they really don’t want it untied or you need more practice.  But either way I guess we see another shortcoming of the backside Phillips.
