Barry! It's been almost a year already since I've seen you all!

The Fieldmaster is my all-time favorite SAK, which I happen to have never owned. Back side Philips is my preference over the corkscrew, and both a scissors and saw makes it most practical with limited layers, and yet I've never owned one. Huntsman yes. Mountaineer yes. Fieldmaster no.

Someday a 70's or '80's version with 4 Row and obverse crossbow tang stamp, screwed scissors, no parcel hook and plain Jane red cellidor in good shape will present itself and I'll bite

Too long my friend!  I like mine.  It's sort of a Craftsman light, with the saw but no file or backspring tools.  I like it because it's the familiar toolkit of the Huntsman but with a Philips Head.  Anymore, everything is Philips Head.

I contemplated today what the most used tools on my SAK are. The result: Blade, Scissors, Wood Saw, Awl (learning more and more to appreciate it), flat head as light pry bar and screwdriver (Phillips mostly).

And while other tools get some use (mag glass, pliers, file, fish scaler mostly), I don‘t use them often enough to justify carry them all the time. So I checked the wiki which would be the thinnest, and therefore most pocketable SAK that would offer me all those tools. The Fieldmaster was among the results. So, long story short: I ordered one and this challenge is the perfect opportunity to get a feel for it. I am in  :cheers:
