Another serendipitous moment - This is getting too much    ;)

Within the last month I updated the Canada Widllife page in the Wiki
https://sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Victorinox+Canada+Wildlife+Series

Guess who's photos are there ?   ???   :pok:

Lisa,

Congratulations on the Canada Series!   It's one I'd love to own too.

Just curious -- all your pictures seem to show the SAKs without their boxes.  Are the boxes stored separately?

Myron

Thank you RR.
Myron, yes, the boxes are stored separately.  Each box has a slip of paper in it that tells which knife belongs in it.  :tu:

Yes, another box.
This box is one that I smiled big when I opened it.  The Ireland/Canada box.  I'd been looking for the Canadian series for quite a while:

As an Irishman, that makes me  .
I've crossed that bridge enough times. Never at night though. :ahhh
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

The famous Ha'penny (foot) Bridge over the River Liffey in the centre of Dublin   8)
So called - As that is how much it cost to cross it in the olden days.

Been across it many times too - Also at night after/during a night out on the town   :drink:

I can believe there are large collections out there other than Chako or  the ColoSwiss/FolderBeholder collection. What I would have a hard time believing would be that the owners of those collections, in this day and age, would not have sought advice on anything. Or that they would not have sought out certain models or information, or purchases and sales.

And in this day and age, the internet is a huge part of all of that. So even in the rare likelyhood that they might not have joined MTO, it is more likely that anyone with a larger collection than Chako, or ColoSwiss or Folder, would have already been encountered elsewhere in person or the on the web.

Unless I am mistaken, of course, and there is some sort of Mecum Car Auction for Swiss Army Knives of which I am unaware...I would say the steward of the largest of collections is most probably among us.

CaliSwiss may have a nice ring to it, but would you consider changing your MTO name to mimick the MTO name of the revered person whose collection you have aquired?

Is it a matter of keeping your name and having your name in the history books. Like the new owner of a 1965 Ford Mustang doesnt change there name?

Or is it a matter of having reached a certain level, like Gandalf the Grey changed after reaching a certain elightenmnet?

No, because I'm not worthy or even in the same league as ColoSwiss.  I think I was just noticing how the collection is now in Cali and that's when the name hit me.
